Acer Aspire V15 C Drive full?

Really confused/frustrated. I have recently bought my laptop because it had lots of storage (or so I thought) and have since discovered that almost anything that can should be saved to the D or External drives as the C drive is rediculously small. I've removed as much of the bloatware as I can but still every now and then the machine plays up due to the C Drive becoming full- even though I rarely if ever save any files there. Am I doing something wrong or is this just how it is? Another annoying aspect of windows/pc/acer system. Any solution?

that happens because you need to install programs to D: instead of C:, so you need to set this manually each time you need to install something.

44GB on C: is good for windows and maybe 1-2 programs

you can also do a clean disk, temporary files and windows update files can use a lot of storage, check also if windows system recovery is using C: or D: as storage.

hibernate also use a lot of storage.

    to do a clean disk

    windows logo key

    type disk cleanup

    click on disk cleanup

    click on cleanup system files

let it scan your SSD, then tick on the list what you want to remove, it's safe.

click OK and wait some minutes

    system recovery

    windows logo + x keys

    click on System

on the left click on system protection

under protection settings check if C is used, if so disable and delete restore points, then add D: as storage for restore points.
