Does the Acer Aspire Switch 11 (SW5-173-6337) support microSD UHS class 3?

Hey,

as asked above I was wondering how I can find out, whether my Acer Aspire Switch will support microSD UHS class 3.

Currently I am having a 128 gb UHS class 1 which should be 10 mbyte/s but it actually is around 14 Mbyte/s.

Now I was wondering if it would be possible to use the fastest UHS class 3?

Thanks in advance Smiley Happy!

It may be a card reader issue. My Switch 12 had a "USB 3.0" port but never could get a faster transfer rate than 30MB/s (100MB/s on a desktop). Even the R14 SD card reader seem limited to 20-25MB/s with a UHS-1 microSD.

OTOH there are a large number of counterfeit and relabeled SD and flash drives out there. I use Crystal Mark and H2testW. There is a good writeup here.

Bottom line, the chip will work but is limited not only by its own capabilities but also that of the card reader or USB port and also the software behind it.

Just checked and a U1 that maintains 50MB/s on the desktop USB 3.0 runs at 25MB/s on the R14.

Thanks for your help. I think I just have to try it out whether UHS 3 will make a difference in the speed.
