aspire switch 11v sw5-173 Keyboard not recognized

Hey everyone! I bought an aspire switch 11v model #: sw5-173. The problem I have is it will no longer recognize the keyboard dock. It worked for about ten times from detaching and attaching from laptop to tablet mode and the last time I tried to attach it back as a laptop it didn't recognize the keyboard. I have tried all the fixes: reset, update drivers and bios, unistall drivers/reinstall drivers, everything. Nothing has worked.  Please help if you have any info.

if you are still under warranty, give Acer support service a call.

I am not familiar with the 11 but my Switch 12 has a keyboard that has an on-off switch and must be charged before using since does not charge when connected to the front. If the 11 is the same then either the switch may be off or the keyboard battery discharged.

 

I think this was fixed in the "R" models.

I did deal with Acer support via the phone and had me do the reset but seemed to be all they knew of as a solution. Unfortunately my keyboard does not have an on or off switch or charging port. It is powered by the tablet itself once connected. And that is why it is troublesome because the tablet does not recognize the keyboard at all. The keyboard is not faulty because I tried it on another coworkers sw5-173 and it works fine. Not sure what else I can do other than return it.

Open Device Manager. Any unknown devices or yellow triangles ?

 

If connected directly & keyboard appears to be detachable then there must be four or five contacts involved. They could be dirty or damaged.
