Error updated the Crystal Eye Webcam

hi

 

I have an acer aspire 5742G purchased in mid 2011 and received a notfication that the crystal eye webcam has a uodate avaiable

 

after downloading the exe. file and run setup wizard, the error message the webcam " requires a component of windows media player to function properly and i need to install v 11 or higher of the player for it to ipdate successfully"

 

the operating system is the windows 7 home premium

 

The WMP v 11 is already pre-installed

 

what is the problem and how can i rectify it?

    Try downloading the update again and installing it after loading the very latest version of WMP. If that doesn't work, call Acer.

    I have this very same problem Anybody solved this yet? I have tried everything!

    I even tried to install the old Crystal Eye but...nothing.

    Ok, problem fixed!!!

     

    Try to uninstall and then reinstall windows media player and media center by following the instructions on this site: http://www.mydigitallife.info/how-to-uninstall-and-re-install-windows-media-player-12-wmp12-in-windows-7/

     

    Now try to install Acer Crystal Eye latest software. It worked like a charm!

    i've already done with the uninstall and reinstall yet still the problem still occurs. That webcam update still shows it need the component from microsoft window media player.. Is there any way around?
