VGA driver Update  for windows 10.

I have upgraded to Windows 10 from Widows 8.1 (pre-installed) , on my "ACER Aspire E1 472P- 6491" laptop by taking advantage of the free upgrade offer and successfully activated Windows 10 . As per ACER ( http://www.acer.com ) , the VGA driver for windows 10 should be updated ( downloaded & installed ) to “NVIDIA VGA Driver 10, ver- 18.13.5350” . The Laptop "ACER Aspire E1 472P- 6491" has got “ INTEL HD Graphics Card “ . I want to know if “NVIDIA VGA Driver 10, ver- 18.13.5350” will be suitable for the INTEL card/hardware ? Will this not create any display or other problems later . I have come to know that many people have faced problems after upgradation of BIOS & drivers. Shall welcome comments from experts and/or someone who has upgraded VGA drivers after Windows 10 installation . Thanks

No, you should not download and install the NVIDIA driver.

Search your computer for the Acer Care Center app.  Use the Acer Care Center app for your critical BIOS updates and driver updates.  Smiley Happy

Looking up your system http://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/model/NX.MFJAA.003 It looks like your system is using the Intel HD 4400 graphics. So it would need to have just the INtel Drivers....

Some systems have both cards and would need both drivers.

Your system it looks like only change for Win 10 drivers was the one you were asking about. However your system don't need that driver so all the 8.1 drivers would be fine for Win 10..

Like a few of my systems... Says works with Win 10 but not Win 10 drivers.. That was becasue all the Drivers for 8 are still good for 10. They are all working Great...

    Hope this helps some

I searched suitable BIOS / Drivers online on Acer website only by giving details e.g. Acer Model Name (Aspire E1-472P) and SNID No.

It suggested NVIDIA VGA Driver ver. 1018.13.5350 (428 MB ).

Shall I follow Acer advice or not . Your advice/comments are welcome. Thanks

Shall I follow Acer advice or not . 2.0 In my laptop present display resolution is 1366 x 768 . I want to know if VGA driver update will improve the resolution to 1920 x 1080 . You could always Try and install the Driver.... If it isn;t for your system it will reject your Driver isntall.... Your system could be a doul GPU.... May only go to one when it is needed not run all the time. Below is total rates for your display

    Internal Res

    800×600, 60 Hz

    1280×768, 60 Hz

    1024×768, 60 Hz

    1360×768, 60 Hz

    1280×720, 60 Hz

    1366×768, 60 Hz

Maximum Resolution HDMI: 1920×1080: 60 Hz

    Maximum Resolution D-Sub: 2048×1536: 85 Hz

In my laptop present display (maximum) resolution is 1366 x 768 . I want to know if VGA driver update will improve the resolution to 1920 x 1080 , or it is limited by the hardware already inplace .

    Your advice/comments are welcome. Thanks
