Acer Liquid Jade S56 can't connect via acerExtend

I have the acer Extend app on my S56 (Lollipop 5.1) and on my laptop (Windows 10). The phone however doesn't find my laptop when I start the app. I've tried connecting via USB and Wifi, both to no avail.

I can access my phone's storage and SD card via explorer.

Any tips?

please check if any antivirus or firewall on your laptop is blocking the connection.

I've tried to connect with both antivirus and firewall down but still no success.

Have you used the acerExtend installer version from the smartphone folder?

When you installed Acerextend, did the application found a new version for your laptop?

    Mine is 1.0.1423.98

    to check version

    windows key logo + x

    Programs and features

i just tried on my PC and i'm able to connect via USB (windows 10)

Windows firewall asked permit to connect via USB

my S56 asked to trust or not connection to my PC

    after that Acerextend worked

    I have the same version.

I'm not using the Windows Firewall but ZoneAlarm and AcerExtend is allowed to make connections.
My phone never asked me to trust the connection to my PC.

Acer Extend starts up, shows the "Make Connection" screen and disappears from my desktop. When I check task manager I see the program is still running (and it is available on my taskbar).

I did notice however, when I checked pairing maintenance that my Acer is paired, but I have none of the functionalities.

if you didn't already, please uninstall Acerextend from your laptop and re-install it.

then check one thing on your S56:

    settings/about phone

scroll down and then tap image version string until it says that developer options are enabled.

once done, exit about phone and tap on developer options

check if USB debugging is ON

and also tap on Revoke USB debuggin authorizations and tap OK

now try to re-connect your S56 using Acerextend and following phone and laptop instructions

I had already tried that, also with no result:

Connecting via Wifi also gives no result, as no phones appear on the screen to pair (laptop and phone are connected to my home network/router) and sound trigger also doesn't work.
