Out of curiosity I will pick up an OTG cable and let you know the result!

Think for that you need an OTG cable to turn one into a slave. OTOH why not just use a router and remote login ?

Just had a live chat with Acer. Apparently the Windows tablet cannot be connected by usb, only the Android. Will try the network route!

    Thanks again!

NP it is just that USB has its roots waaay back in SCSI and is a single Master - many Slaves system. Windows devices always expect to be Masters and smaller systems are often configured to be Slaves. Good ones autodetect.

OTG (On the go) is designed to allow a device to be either Master or Slave but not all implement this properly. If using a OTG cable does not work then the easiest way to connect Windows devices is using a network and remote access.

You may be able to connect directly using wireless or a null-modem cable & static addressing in the

169.254.0.0/16 (local loop) range but then you cannot connect to anything else without dual NICs.

No use! The PC did not recognize the device.

I am hopeful it will work ok across the home network.
