A bif portion of my monitor seems to have lack of light or so where its completely dark to a point it looks like half of my screen is turned on!

Now i need to have a monitor at all times for work so i want to know how long does Acer generally take to fix up a monitor has anyone had experience they may share?

    YingNZ,

Here is a thread from a user that had their monitor repaired by Acer in the United States.

Their ETA for repairs is 7-10 working days AFTER they receive your hardware in their labs, so usually in real-terms around 2 weeks.  If you are under warranty you will most likely be able to get shipping paid for as well, just speak to their customer support on the phone.

If you are getting half of the monitor backlight not working sometimes when the monitor powers on, a workaround is simply to turn the monitor off and back on again with the button on the bottom-right.  I live with this as it only happens maybe once a week and doesn't bother me at all.  Acer are aware of this issue on some of the first few batches of X34 and have a fix for it, so they will be able to repair the fault if you wish, just confirm with their phone support.

I had the wake from sleep issue, I sent mine into the Australian service centre 3 weeks ago, yesterday I got an email saying they have finished the repairand doing final testing. I only sent mine in because I was going on holiday for a week.
