Iconia One 7 google search on home page; small pop up screen instead of Chrome web browser

Iconia One 7 using google search on home page, when you choose a webpage it takes you to a small pop up screen instead off to the Chrome web browser..very frustrating. Can anyone help?

    that popup is Acer float browser.

     

    you can try to disable it from settings - apps

    tap on ALL applications list

    scroll until Float browser

    tap on clear data - clear cache

    then tap on Disable

     

    check if you have any error disablling float browser.

    The popup should be offering you all the options you have for opening a web page. If you select one and say 'always' it'll default to that and no longer give you the popup.

    It is not doing that. Just gives the small pop up. I tried to add as screen shot here, but it won't let me.

    If it were a Windows box I'd say your browser has been hijacked to put ads in front. Yu might want to run a malware scan to make sure it's not that type of thing.

    It worked. It did say disabling might affect other apps... But worth it. I' ll see if it effects anything important.
