Acer S240HL monitor keeps powering off from vibrations?

My monitor keeps powering down from small vibrations that effect the desk it is on... things like a chair bumping the table, sliding my keyboard with its rubber grips, moving my stapler, rolling up to the desk, etc. When the power shuts off, I cant just push the button and turn it back on, I have to unplug the power cord and leave it out for a bit, rub my finger on the peg in the power port on the back of the monitor, then plug it back in and it will power on again. The monitor keeps shutting down and it is now a routine I have to do several times every day... funny thing is, big vibrations dont do it.... If I slam my hand on the desk, the monitor is fine? I have already checked the power strip it is plugged into and the power cord does not have any pinches in it and is not crimped under any furniture etc.

    Rawson1,

That sounds very strange. Here are some things I can think of:

Try using a different power cable.

Try plugging directly in to the wall.

Try a different spot on the power strip.
