How to keep keyboard backlight ALWAYS ON -> vn7-792g

I have an Acer vn7-792g and when it is running on battery power the keyboard backlight powers down after about 30 seconds.  Is there a way to make it always on? 

 

What makes this problem annoying is that it's not that I'm NOT using my computer...I'm using the trackpad but just not typing.  However, I do a lot of programming in bed at night and so I'll scroll around reading and stuff but then when I want to type the keyboard goes dim.  This also happens when I try to hightlight some area with the trackpad and by the time I'm ready to do a CTRL-C, CTRL-P the keybard goes dim and I can't find my keys (especially b/c I'm still getting used to the keyboard since I've only had the machine for a week or so).

 

As a matter of fact the keyboard went dark twice while I was composing/proofreading this message.
