Is there anyway to upgrade the dedicated video ram on you computer that has Intel HD graphics?

I'm asking this because you can do this in the bios (f2) on some laptops like an example asus can do that. I wanted to know if you can upgrade the vram without using the bios. Thanks

Sadly there isn't any way that could be done in windows. 

 

however in most cases there in Bios is a setting under advanced that you can change from 64gb Dedicated ram to 128ram...   

 

There is one thing that you could try.... 

 

Click Start> in "Run" type msconfig then press Enter, Click Boot tab> Click "Advanced Options" and you CAN check the "Maximum memory" box. This will allocate all possible shared RAM to your video RAM. This is the BEST you can do sadly.

The only thing it says when I check the box is 4096 mb. Should it show that?

When you click it yes it shows your max ram. Then you can put how much you want to be for video. I wouldn't put all system ram myself.

Well I think after much testing I have found that to only be helpful if you want to lower the amount of Ram for Graphics... or change to Max 4096 in your case if it was set before at a different Rate...

 

I say this because while I have 8gb of ram. I tested my system before making any changes to that, and my Graphics Ram was 2176 MBytes. After I set the Ram in the Area that I said and tested it at MAX being 4096 or 4gb I found that it lowered the amount that It had set for Graphics to just over 1gb of Graphics Ram.....

 

So for me, I would say really only way to upgrade is by adding the Max amount of Ram for your system.
