Acer Iconia 8...the "tick" for accepting text has disappeared. What do I do?

Worked fine when purchased. Need to set stuff up online - including Acer's own BYOC - but no return button/icon is now on the onscreen keyboard.

My 24 days are running out, and shop will not accept return once opened. I do not want to be continually asking for help during the life of this machine.

I review books - coloured - and was recommended the tablet as against the e-reader. I delve into analytical chemistry and need to proofread diagrams - so these have to be in full colour. This is all I use my Acer lap for, but it is getting clumsy to carry.
