Completely turn off vibration? (Liquid Z220)

Hi,

I've tried to completely turn off vibration on my phone—I. really don't want it to vibrate, ever.

I've looked through all the settings, and found only these two vibration-related ones, which I've turned off:

• Sound and Notification > "Also vibrate for calls"

• Sound and Notification > Other Sounds > "Vibrate for touch" (whatever that means; it's not in the manual)

But the phone still vibrates—for example, every time I turn it on or off, or if I'm composing a text and a call comes in.

Am I overlooking any other vibration settings? Or maybe it's time to get out the magnifier and the soldering iron? :?)

i don't have a Z220 to test it but i have a virbate option for calls also on phone app.

tap as you need to make a call, on the top right click on the 3 dots then general, here i have "also vibrate for calls"

other vibrations settings:

settings/sound - Vibrate device for incoming calls

settings/sound - vibrate on touch

settings/language & input/google keyboard/preferences - vibrate on keypress

i can't find others, so if you are still getting vibration, you can try a factory reset and then disable all the vibrations again and check if this fix your issues (including your volume to 0 issue).

if not....probably it's a bug on Z220 android OS and you need to wait Acer to fix it....if they will ever fix it.

Thanks for your thoughtful reply. Unfortunately, I've already found those settings, and turning them off hasn't made any difference.

Rather than erasing my phone and reinstalling everything on the chance it will help, I'll just tolerate the vibrating for now and see if Acer fixes it with an update.

BTW, before I posted here, I had a ludicrous half-hour Live Chat with an Acer agent (in India, I believe). I stated my questions quite clearly, but the agent seemed to have trouble understanding what I was saying. Several times, he suggested things I had just tried, and generally acted like he'd paid no attention to what we were discussing.

It was such a complete waste of time.

The simplest solution I've found, is to turn off all you can in the Sounds section in Settings, then, when you've silenced the phone ringing, come out of Settings, and press the volume down key, select NONE from the options,

and .......................................that's it

Thanks, but I don't want to turn off all sounds. For example, I'd like the phone to ring when someone calls me, and make the text-notification sound when someone texts me. I just don't want it to act like some kind of weird adult toy, if you know what I mean.

I also have a good idea the vibrate mechanism uses a fair amount of power, and this phone's battery runs down ridiculously quickly. Since it was new, I've never gotten more than an hour's use out of it per charge.
