Core i3 + gt540m

I use this laptop for video editing, rendering and gaming, the problem is it is overheating, it wouldn't be a problem if the cooler worked at 100% capacity but it never goes max speed, it prefers to shut down the laptop rather than spin faster. It spins faster before it loads windows, after that it's running at low speed, not ENOUGH! Please what can be done? can you acer guys make an app to set the fan speed to max, it is driving me nuts cause I can't use the laptop performance to its fullest because of this. I can't play assassin's creed cause after 10-15min it shuts down.

Unfortunately, the fan speed in this system is not user adjustable. Have you tried adjusting any of your power management settings to see if you get better performance? If you feel that your system is not cooling properly or overheating, you may try contacting Acer support for your region to inquire about setting your unit up for service.

I tried different power settings, it is the same, tha fan never speeds up to 100%, but only in Windows, when laptop starts, just before loading windows and also in bios it runs 100% when it is hot, I can't understand why in windows it slows down, it would be nice then if the fan could stay at 100% at all times without none controling it. I don't have warranty however could you sugest perhaps a better fan ?

There are many third party cooling systems for notebook computers on the market. Unfortunately, I am unable to provide a recommendation on third party accessories.

Maybe you've already tried it but it hasn't been mentioned here yet, have you cleaned out the fan with a can of compressed air? It doesn't take very much dust to cause this sort of issue. Another common mistake is resting the computer on soft surfaces, blankets, beds or pillows as they block the vents.
