Hello,

I own a Acer Aspire V3-771G-6443, and I am having a fan anomaly. Frequently, my fan stops working for months at a time, then starts working again. This has happened several times and unsuprisinly affects functionality. Has anybody else run into this problem? If so, what are your suggestions/solutions?

Thanks,

Michael

One of the issues with Laptop fans is if used in dusty area can get loaded with dust. I would say to try and clean out your fan. if it is that your fan is bad then it would need to be replaced.....

With your laptop it isn't something I would offer just anyone to do it..... The problem with that laptop to get to the fan you would have to take almost everything out to replace it.

This would mean removing the battery, then all the screws and then using a credit card or a nice plastic tool set made for taking apart these kind of things.... Then turning over the lap top and removing the Keyboard, however under the palmrest there is a screw as well to remove the keyboard that would need to be taken out as well.. Then you would have to remove the Motherboard and then you would have access to the Fan... There are loads of things that I would say needs to be removed to make this easy. From your hard drive that is the easiest part and the ram lol.... If you do it, I would say take lots of pictures unless you know your system well.. That way you can refer back to put it all back together...... PICTURES are truely like 1000 words....

First however I would get some compressed air from Wal mart or some other store, and try and blow out your fan. If it is just buildup that could make it better without all the hard work that is a head....
