Since I downloaded windows 10 things have slowed way down. The c p u usage shows 25% when nothing is running and goes to 100 % as soon as I start anything.

Try removing SD card if one is installed. Check for updates using windows update. There should be a Windows10 update. install it. This is a large update and can take an hour or more. Do not put the SD card back in untill you see if you still have high wudhost usage.

Open task manager and select more details locacted at the bottom left. You then can see what and how much is using CPU.

I checked task manager and it showed that --

    wudhost.exe 29%

    system idle process 61%

No idea what that means but it sure is a lot !

wudhost is windows foundation drivers. Not unusual for causing high CPU usage after OS upgrade. Let your system run idle without going to sleep for about an hour. You may have a corrupt file if problem continues after the hour. Post back and let us know.

I let things idle for over an hour and the numbers only changed to 16% and 69%.

    Task manager showed 86-89%.

    So that didn't help.

What is your Acer model number? What method did you use to upgrade to windows 10? Did you update all drivers. Are you using any external drives or SD cards?

My machine is a Switch 10E. It is the bigger of the two (64).

I downloaded straight from windows when then sent me the notice to do so.

They say everything is up to date.

I do not use any external add ons.

My (Acer Aspire E11) CPU usage is not too bad on Windows 10 Home Build 10240:

Occasionally the Acer Cloud Client uses over 60% CPU:

And the Microsoft Family Safety Monitor uses over 80%:
