[Acer Aspire S3-391] Wifi problem on Windows 8

 

Hi,

 

I bought my ultrabook(Acer Aspire S3-391) 1 month ago.

When I bought it, Windows 8 was already installed.

 

But there is wifi problem(Atheros AR5BMD222).

Just very rarely connected.

 

 

I did below things to fix this problem.

 

Upgrade BIOS

Upgrade wireless driver(10.0.0.217 v3 / 10.0.0.75 / 10.0.0.221) after unintall and delete previous version

(I tried 3 versions)

Recovery

Upgrade router's Firmware

Change Power option(Maximum Performance)

Not allow the computer to turn off the device to save power

netsh winsock reset catalog (reset winsock entries) / netsh int ip reset reset.log hit (reset TCP/IP stack)
 

 

 

I tried to find information regard to this problem to fix. And I followed someone's suggestion.

 

But it doesn't work. In my opinion, the problem is caused by windows 8.

 

I have the other lap-top(ASUS, windows 7), and it works very well.

 

My mobiles, ASUS lap-top, IPAD. Everyhing works very well.

 

I am waiting for your suggestion.

I had all those problems and I reverted the driver to .075. This mostly solved the wifi drop out problem.

 

A couple of days ago, the new Atheros 10..0.0.218 appeared in the Acer LIVE updater, which I then installed; I have had no wifi dropouts so far. Not sure where you got your 10.0.0.221 from? Anyway, just a suggestion, activate your Live Updater, and try the .218, maybe that will fix it.
