Error no boot disk has been detected or the disk has failed

Member Posts: 2 New User

Hello,

I have a desktop Acer Veriton S6610G, i been using it for quite a while but suddently it shuts down and when i turned it on it displays black screen with the message "Error no boot disk has been detected or the disk has failed". Sometimes when i turn it on, it boots for few minutes then restarts displaying same message. More often, it boots but stops and hangs on the windows logo only.   BIOS config is correct, and I already replaced sata cable.

Please help!

Thanks.

What O/S are you using and did you notice in bios if bios recognizes the HDD?

While you're in ther reset to defaults and save.

Because sometimes it shows "Error no boot disk has been detected or the disk has failed" and some times it makes it to the Windows screen, It makes me suspect a HDD failure.

Download and run the HDD makers diagnostic CD and Memtest86+. That should all help rule out hardware as the culprit.

    Hello,

I am using Windows 7 Pro, and yes the BIOS can recognize the HDD. I tried also removing the HDD and mounted it to another PC, same problem occurred.

    Thanks.

Then we know the problem is the HDD or data on it.

Download and run the HDD makers HDD diagnostic utility cd.
