Your unit shipped with Windows 8.  Recovery options will be limited to Windows 8.

We are able to support the shipping operating system.

If you would like to purchase another operating system and install it, that is at your discretion.

We do have Windows 7 drivers available.

Please be aware of issues with GPT and MBR when attempting to install another OS.

Also, UEFI will likely need to be changed to Legacy mode in order to see the Windows 7 media.

So are you saying that I may be able to finally get win7 on my laptop, but I won't be able to find drivers for win7? I am programs that are not compatible with win8 so I have been trying to set up a dual boot system. What is the point, if win7 will basically be non-funtional? I don't understand. My system came with win8 on it and I kind of like it, but I have has several compatibily issues with it. Therefore, I wanted to used my win7 on the computer too. Am I stuck?

This is not the same question that you have asked in your thread.

Drivers are available for V3-571 running Win7 as Acer stated.

My comments are for the M5-581TG and may not apply to the V3 - I leave it to you to verify.

If you wish to go ahead (entirely at your risk of course) consider:

    1. Make a backup just in case you want Win8 down the road. You'll need 1 x DVD, 1 x 16GB USB.

    2. Ensure you clear *ALL* passwords from BIOS if you have any set.

    3. Download drivers as required from Acer site. (Don't change BIOS - Win8 BIOS is fine for Win7 plus you can still run Win8 later if you choose.) **

    4. Switch BIOS from UEFI to Legacy.

    5. Install Win7.

    6. Load drivers.

** Download nVidia drivers for Win8. Win7 would not install for me but Win8 drivers were fine (Probably due to the Win8 BIOS - but they are much later anyway).
