Hello. I formated  Acer aspire E11 with windows 8.1 from USB cd rom . It worked well but on next reboot it wont start anymore and it wont accept no more boots from usb, Pen or usb cd rom, not even Hirens Boot starts. Always says "No bootable device" with an image of an SD card and a magnifing glass. Is there some solution to this?

Thanks very much.

formated, do you mean re-install windows 8.1 or just formated the HDD?

have you tried to press F12 at boot and choose USB_DVD?

hello. thanks for your help. its not that. i wil try to explain:

-i used a dvd of windows 8.1 from a usb cd reader. i formated ok but CLEANING all the 32 gb disk of the laptop.. but it didnt go so well so i tried to format agai, with windows 7 or even 10 and now its says "no bootable device" ALWAYS.  even strike f12 key wont work unless you go to BIOS and disable UEFI mode on bott options. But the bios tells you a warning that its not the ideal settings for use with 8.1 or 10 so i done it but got an unstable system and i cant format the NORMAL way, with the bios on its defaults, you know?

-Resuming: with the BIOS in its normal mode defaults i can NEVER boot from cd or whatever it ALWAYS tells this "no bootable device" error.. always no matter what .

    ok, revert to UEFI.

on BIOS disable secure boot (just to narrow possible issues)

also check if F12 Boot menu is enabled on Main tab.

press F10 save and exit, then try to boot from USB CD again.

hello. thanks. it seems to work altoug can not change the secure boot option.

it seems it only works this way with windows 8 or 10, not 7

    thanks very much.

on Device manager, click on View tab and select "show hidden devices"

check if the touchpad appears, try to press Fn+F7 too and see if something change on device manager.
