I am thinking of buying a W700, 128gb with the i5. Can any one recomend it and give me the low down?

I'm in the same boat as you. Its either this or the Surface Pro. The other closest competitor would be the Samsung Ativ Smart PC Pro 700T, but I have crossed that option off my list.

I have never used the Acer W700, but through my research I am starting to come closer to a decision.

    Key Positives:

    • Consistent reports of excellent battery life that exceeds any other device of similar specs. Around 6-8 hours of juice compared to the pro that will have 4-5 hours.
    • Good value. It's cheaper than the Ativ or the Surface Pro and it comes with more. Dock, keyboard case (some models), vga adapter
    • Keyboard case can allow you to use it either flat or in your lap. Almost like a laptop. Has tactile keys for typing ease
    • 11.6 inch screen is plenty of room for doing work and has a 1080 high res display.

    Key Negatives:

    • Will be slighty heavier and thicker than the Surface Pro when you put it in its case. The 11.6" form factor might be a bit big and wide for a tablet.
    • Lacks Micro SDXC slot for expanding storage
    • Reported issues of wifi, bluetooth, and throttling issues.
    • Some reports online/youtube about some quality issues with the hardware like the buttons getting stuck
    • Lack of pressure sensitive stylus
    • I've been annoyed with Acer's lack of information on the product especially concerning the one that has a keyboard case. It seems that they themselves don't even know what they are shipping to retailers

Right now its a pretty close tie. I am just waiting for the surface pro to come out to see how the battery life will actually perform then I will make a decision. Right now though I am swinging toward the Surface but that could easily change
