XB280HK - Need help with AMD video card.

Okay, I just upgraded my video card from a GTX-780 3GB to an R9 390 8GB as I need more vRAM. I wasn't thinking and forgot I have a G-Sync monitor (NVIDIA).

Anyway, it seems to work fairly well, but I get weird video shimmering and something that looks like taering occasionally.

I was wondering if there is a way to enable Adaptive Sync (I know Freesync won't work as it is AMD propietery). Or is G-Sync compatible at all with the new VESA standard?

If so, what monitor setting and/or video card settings do I need to adjust.

ps, and I won't upgrade to NVIDIA as they want a ridiculous amount that is over $1,000 for one of the Titans. It already pains me to spend over $300 on the R9 390.

as far as i know:

XB is G-Sync only and i'ts VESA DDCCI/DDC2B compliant

XF is freesync only

about video tearing, have you tried to enable V-Sync?

I haven't tried vsync yet. It was only giving me issue with my TV (HDHomeRun). My game seems fine. but I haven't tested it much.

I was hoping this monitor had full Display Port 1.2a which has Adaptive Sync. I found an article on it that states it would give the Adaptive Sync logo to any monitior that supports it.
