Aspire Laptop won't start

1) No leds on when charging, or any time.

2) have reset battery with paper clip

3) held down button 10 seconds to 2 minutes

4 Charger ok at 20.4 volts DC

5) Have tried every option I found on the net except removing battery.  But the reset button eliminates the need. 

6) Other than dropping from second story window, any ideas?  FYI, I am an IT director.

    The model would help. Your DC power jack could be bad or have a bad connection.Your power supply could be failing under load. The voltage regulator could be bad. You may need to replace the motherboard/ buy a new laptop.
