A friend gave me a Aspire7741z-5731 and I had to spend days updating the OS. As soon as i upgraded to 10 via the web installer my laptop wont start its in a reboot loop. I read that there is a oem partitian folder that has all the files for the operating system in it. How do I access it and what commands would I use to begin the new installation of windows 7? Please help this is a fairly nice laptop and I would like to have it for more than just a paper weight.

You can try ALT-F10 method.  But there's no guarantees it will work after installing Windows 10.  There's been mixed results reported.  It works for some and not for others.  There's also a lot of videos on this support website that show various things.

You can also try clean install of Windows 10

Or purchased recovery media from Acer store.

Recovery media from Acer store might be the best option.....so you can wipe the drive using diskpart clean prior to using recovery media...so you can ensure you don't have some sort of persistent virus.

Edit: Since your Windows 10 never had a chance to activate, a clean install of Windows 10 might not be the best course of action since it could leave you with un-activated Windows 10.  So other options would probably be best.  After you get Windows 7 back on the computer, then you can try to upgrade using "Upgrade this PC" method if you want windows 10...if you want to give it another shot.

    I'm not an Acer employee.
