Hi, I've tried searching the net for a solution to my problem and found no solutions that work.

My Aspire crashed during a Bios-flash the bios will not start. Only thing that happens when i power up, is a black screen and the heatsink fan spinning.

Does anyone know how to flash the bios from a USB stick? I've seen some solutions referring to a "*.FD", but i cannot find any FD-files in the bios-upgrades i have downloaded from: http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers#_ga=1.131287631.118141506.1412340623

Help is much appreciated.

  • Here is the bios: http://s000.tinyupload.com/?file_id=35265765753625982087

Format USB drive to fat and copy bios to it.

Remove battery and power cord from laptop,

Hold power button down for 15 seconds,

    plug in USB,

Hold FN and Esc and plug in power while continueing to hold FN & Esc,

Push power button, while continueing to hold FN & Esc, let go of FN & Esc.

It may take as long as 10 or 20 minutes and it may reboot or shut down by itself, but whhen there is no more activity after 10 or 20 minutes shut it down and try it.

    Good luck
