BIOS boot error, will only boot from DVD & USB, when DVD not in, tries to boot from PXE-ROM

Hi all

I have an Acer V571P-6472, and I believe there's a BIOS boot error. It turns on, the Acer logo flashes and as I try to press F2/F12 (or every possible key combination I've seen) it does not work and goes to a screen that says then

then goes to a screen that says

Operating System not found

and it remains there until you turn the computer off.

I bought a system recovery disk but it prompted me saying that it could only boot from UEFI mode. How do I do this?

that error is a classic for boot partition damage or dead HDD.

UEFI can only be changed on BIOS....so probably taking off the HDD from your laptop can be a good thing to test if it works or not.

It's not the hard drive. I took it out and replaced it with a spare (used twice), and it booted up, went to the PXE-ROM, and then went to a screen asking me if I wanted to start it in safe mode, and when I clicked start Windows normally, it flashed across three different screens and went back to the loop.
