Bought an XG270HU in May. Do I need to send it in for a firmware upgrade?

I've bought two XG270HU: one in mid-May, one one June 29. I've heard rumors (both here and elsewhere) that there was a firmware update aimed towards patching a FreeSync issue. In the near future I intend to use FreeSync with the ones I have.

Should I be concerned about the firmware? Would I actually need to ship in my monitors to have them serviced?

Sorry about not responding, Fall semester started. I'm currently waiting for my CPU to arrive for a new computer I've built. I should be able to conduct some tests with the monitors to verify if and where issues occur with FreeSync.

Thank you for your response. I've noticed that you keep yourself busy on the forums. Hopefully I can get back to you fairly soon so that we can determine a course of action

I've been able to test FreeSync and found it to be working without issue. My AMD Fury X was able to detect and utilize the feature with ease, plus the Overdrive feature seems to work. I think we're good to go on my end. Whew!
