Factory recovery question

Hello all,

I have an Aspire V5 and can't boot into Windows.

I did not create a recovery DVD or USB flash.
I used to own Dell's and they had a recovery option at boot, prior to Windows loading.

Do Acers not have an option like that?

If not, can I purchase a Recovery DVD set from Acer?

Please assist,

thanks

windows 10 it's not preload OS (or at least, i'm not sure that Acer is already selling laptop with windows 10 from factory), it's an update, so ALT+F10 doesn't work.

try to press F8 (or shift+F8)at boot or if this doesn't work, you can download windows 10 installation media, boot from that and enter recovery.

Windows 10 is installed.... My client forgot her new Win 10 password.
But, if it's pre-OS load, would that matter?

You are correct... She did the free Win 7 to Win 10 upgrade, and forgot to write down her password, so now can't log in to Win 10.

I'm currently downloading an ISO image from the link you provided (which should take a while).
I'll come back and ask about getting into recovery after I have the DVD made.

Wonder if that ISO from MS would allow her to keep Win 10 and remove the current PW?

Turns out it was local... worse scenario.

Anyway, I found a hacker giving/selling Win 10 PW crackers and got one.

He's from the Orient (some of the menu's were Chinese), but has a good site.  His "free" app won't crack a Win 10 PW, but it would allow me to create a new user on the system...

From there I was able to do a complete Win 10 wipe/install, and she's good to go now...

    Thanks for all your help....
