Brand new and all of a sudden dead! What do I do? Purchased via Amazon

Hi,

Brand new convertable tablet, upgraded to Windows 10 without a hitch.  Was happy with it's performance but this morning I took it to work with me (I use it for work as well to schedule clients using One Calendar) and just nothing when I hit the power button.  I thought it was not charged so I took it home to get it on the charger.. nothing.  Dead.  How can a new tablet be dead already?  I don't have the packaging as it was cumbersome so I threw it out.  I really hope I'm not out a couple of hundred bucks over something that's not my fault.

If anyone has any ideas of what to try please post.

thanks

It would help to know which model you have.

Sometimes a system can get stuck in sleep mode, it can usually be fixed by a forced power cycle. Press and hold the power for 10-30 seconds, wait a bit the turn it on normally. Let us know if that helps, and if not we'll try and dig deeper into diagnostics. You should have a one year warranty if it was purchased new, so no worries on that score.

Sorry I didn't post that info...

Acer Aspire Switch NT.L4TAA.011 10.1-Inch 64 GB Tablet

That's directly from the Amazon sales page.

    Thanks for the fast response.

Well, that worked.  Is this a bug in the OS or in this particular device?

    Thanks again!

Tough to tell who to blame yet. It's likely a driver that is not handling sleep mode well, but until we figure out which one is the culprit the fix will be to do the power cycle.
