Aspire V Nitro VN7-791G

The Acer Aspire VN7-791G-71P5 keyboard cannot simultaneously send <Z, Up, Left> and <Z, Down, Right> when I hold all three keys in the group. Only the first two keys of the group in the order I press will be sent: for example, if I press in the keys in the order Left, Up, Z, only Left and Up will be sent. This is an unusual limitation because I cannot think of another keyboard having this issue. Is this a hardware limitation common to the Aspire V Nitro family (which I presume) or something I can fix?

Interestingly, I do not encounter this issue with <Z, Up, Right> and <Z, Down, Left>.

I have contacted Acer support using chat one time, and the representative I was chatting with said that this issue was out of their scope, and I should contact AnswersBy (https://answersby.com/), which I have not done yet.

Upon further research it appears that this is a limitation of the keyboard itself.

    Bouowmx,

Could I ask what function requires all three of those keys at once?

    Yes, you can ask.

Legacy of Lunatic Kingdom.pngShooting (Z) and moving (arrow keys). I cannot shoot and move up and left, or shoot and move right and down at the same time.

It is not an application issue. The problem occurs in all applications. I tested in http://www.microsoft.com/appliedsciences/KeyboardGhostingDemo.mspx, and after I pressed the three keys of a group mentioned in my original post, only two will appear.

Additional keys that do not work with <Up, Left> or <Down, Right>:

    \, S, D, G, H, ', Z, V, B, M, Right Shift, Space

<Up, Left, Space> do not work together. r u srs.

Acer REALLY cut costs in the keyboard. It is very severe compromise in a high-performance laptop.Man Sad

I am having this issue too... On a 571 G. Would be nice to get a reply... Ghosting like this really shouldn't occur in a laptop like this.

    NOOOOO!

On a high-price laptop such as the V Nitro, spending an additional 20 USD to integrate a good-functioning keyboard to the laptop is an inconsequential cost. The VN7-791G-71P5 is already close to 1,500 USD. I fail to see how the cost of a good keyboard will discourage any sales, especially at this price range. Well, I guess I have to deal with it.

    Deal with it
