Overheating & DPC_Watchdog_Violation

Hello, 

 

I need a little help with two issues. My first problem is my computer overheated really badly this morning after an update.

 

 

The two areas in the above image became really hot (about as hot as the transformer on my charger cable) and I'm not sure why. I was using my laptop on my sofa, so I thought it may have been the material of the sofa that caused the issue, possibly covering the fan. However, I moved my laptop to my desk, but it didn't help. 

 

Has anyone had this issue before? I am monitoring it, but I am not sure whether it is worth sending it off to be repaired if needed. 

 

 

The second issue I had was this blue screen. I did research it, and I found out it has something to do with the SSD and Windows 8, but I no longer have 8 on my laptop anymore (I have 10). This blue screen appeared just as I started typing this message.

 

Any help with either of these issues would be really appreciated!

If your system is getting hot, you may try powering it completely off and blowing it out with compressed air to make sure there is not excess dust or debris clogging the ventillation system. Also, make sure you are using it on a flat surface that is not fabric, because sitting directly on fabric can reduce airflow. The computer is designed to shut down if it gets to hot, however, if it is getting too hot to touch, I recommend contacting Acer service in your region to inquire about repair options. 

 

In regards to the bluescreen, I am not sure why you are getting that error. If a system reboot does not resolve the issues, it could be related to the heating issue or a software application that is not running properly.
