Hi all,
I've been using Acer for over 8 years. I need to buy a new laptop and I wanted it to be Acer again. My problem is I can not seem to find the one perfect for me. And I can't find it not as in there isn't any, but as in I literally can't trace down the model I like. Here are my requirements:
1. It MUST have a monsterously powerful battery. I mean, a battery that can last at least 8 hours, or preferably longer. That said, I don't mind buying a battery separately, as long as there is one powerful enough for my new model. No less than 6500mAh, preferably 9000mAh.
2. It MUST have an ISO/IEC 9995-1 compatible keyboard, which means: There needs to be a key between Left Shift and Z; There needs to be a key between ' and Enter; Enter needs to span over two rows, between Backspace and Right Shift; There needs to be the Numerical keyboard. As with 1. I don't mind buying a keyboard separately and replacing it on my own, as long as it will fit my model.
3. It MUST have at least 6GB RAM.
4. It MUST have at least 640GB Hard Disk. It would be nice to have an SSD, but it isn't crucial.
5. It MUST have EITHER dedicated OR integrated graphics, but NOT switchable! However, if it's dedicated graphic, it SHOULD be a newer and more powerful one, although I'm not a gamer and don't need strong graphics in general.
6. It MUST be physically durable. I won't be taking it hiking, but it would be nice to have metallic look and feel.
7. It SHOULD be slim and light weight. This is not a deal breaker, but it is somewhat important for me.
8. It MUST have at least 14'' screen diagonal. This far I haven't found a 14'' laptop with a numerical keyboard, so probably >=15,6'', but if there is a smaller one that fits my other needs, I want to have a look.
9. I would prefer it NOT to have touchscreen, but it's not a deal breaker if it does.
10. I would prefer it to have a CD/DVD reader, but it's not a deal breaker if it doesn't.
11. I don't really care about any of the other components, but I would of course give advantage to newer and more competitive ones.
12. Price does matter, and having in mind that I don't ask for the newest CPU or GPU or SSD, or basically anything except a better than average battery, I don't expect it to go near or over 1000EUR.
13. Finally, I don't mind buying an older model, or refurbished one, if that will reduce price, but as long as I'm not buying a used computer.
Does anyone have a suggestion for me?
