Hello,

First, I apologize for my bad English.

The battery on my Acer liquid E3 (E380) suddenly drops 15% when it is 30% and load suddenly to 100% when 85%.

I think I have to calibrate the battery but I can not find on the site of Acer how.

Can you please tell me how to do?

Sincerely, romat1993

Have you tried charging when device is shutdown?

power off your E380, connect the AC charger and let it charge.

as far as i remember, there is no options to calibrate battery.

the only thing that i can suggest, is to do a factory reset, but first backup your personal data:

    settings/backup&reset - factory data reset

if even after a factory reset, the issue persist, please contact Acer support service.

    Hi romat,

The Acer community is a peer to peer community that Acer provides moderating and the ability for us to step in when and where needed but I hope this article can better help explain how Acer is involved in the Community foums. http://community.acer.com/t5/Community-News/Acer-s-role-in-the-Community/ba-p/29261

I'd also like to vouch for Ironfly's knowledge when it comes to smartphones, he's one of our best and has helped more smartphone users (and users of other products) for several years on the Acer community.

As far as the E380 goes, there is not a battery calibration tool built into the phone itself, but there are some tools that the Android software can take advantage of. You can try the following steps to recalibrate.

    1. Fully charge the phone
    2. Set the screen to never shut off in the options (you can also turn brightness up to help with future battery drains)
    3. Unplug the phone
    4. Turn it off
    5. Plug the phone back into the charger, let the device completely charge (you should see a light indication for fully charged)
    6. Unplug the phone
    7. Turn it on
    8. Plug the phone back in to charge it to 100% (I know this seem reduntant, and it might be, but I would not recommend taking shortcuts)
    9. Unplug the phone
    10. Let it discharge completely to 0% (it will turn off)
    11. Completely charge the device
    12. Power the device on
    13. Test to see if the battery is calibrated

If these steps don't correct the problem, I would certainly look to do the restore of the phone that Ironfly described previously and then contact your local Acer support team for options with the device.

Thanks, and let us know how this turns out.

ok thank you Cory,  I will try

    I have a question,

when I load from 0% to 100%, the phone must be switched off?

On the initial charge? It does not matter if it's on or off.

After you've discharged the phone to 0% (step 10), leave the phone off while charging.

    I speak of step 11

ok so the phone must be switched off at step 11

Yup, but more specifically in step 10, the phone should completely discharge and shut off itself.

    now I'm in step 10.

however, for step 2, I'm not sure I quite understand.

in the settings, I adjusted the screen snaps into standby after 30 minutes.

I can not do more than 30 minutes

Here, I got an answer that it was a hardware problem. :/

I was dealing with a person with no experience ...

it can be an hardware issue, the battery controller can misread battery voltage or send incorrect values.

it's not only a matter of calibration. Smiley Happy
