    johnaaronrose,

According to what I see in the service guide, it shows that it supports SDHC 2.0 up to 32 GB.

Here is my experience with my Acer E700 E39 and a 64 GB Samsung Evo SD (micro-SD) card, after 2 days of use.

After I formatted my card in my smartphone, it was just fine. Right now my smartphone says "Total space 59,61 GB"; available "22.94 GB".

    Actually there are two questions:
Will the ACER company give you support if you use a card larger than 32GB ? I'm afraid not.
Will your smartphone support a 64GB card ? With a bit of luck, it may. Of course, I can't speak for all cards produced for all models of all brands. But if you want to give it a chance, it is not hopeless !

    Here are my tests:
    A. Using the card as formatted by the card manufacturer, I moved a few files (totalling more than 40 GB) to the card with my PC. The smartphone didn't like that and suggested to format the card.
    B. Using the card as formatted by the smartphone, I moved a few files totalling more than 40 GB to the card. The smartphone could see all files. Fine.
    C. I moved my real stuff. I didn't notice any problem.

I don't believe it is anymore than 32GB, and even that's if your lucky. I have had the phone for over a year now, and I have used 3 x 64GB branded, genuine cards, and one 32GB card, and everyone in the phone has either gone faulty or write protected, especially when you hit about 32GB on the 64GB cards.
I have tried everything possible to remove the write protection from the cards, but not possible. Every card has been replaced by the various manufacturer, Sandisk, Kingston, Transcend. I am reluctant to use any card in the phone. Micro SD cards have a Max number of write/erase cycles, and with what I have read cards should last about 10yrs, even having apps installed on it, I can't get more than 6months.....
Nobody can tell me if its the card, the phone, or a limitation in Android itself, I am even reluctant to buy another Acer phone.
