v15 nitro speakers problem

Hi guys,

I have this problem with my acer nitro (591g). It had nice surround sound when I bought it. Now it shows only two speakers in device manager. I think, that the problem is in windows 10, but I am unable to change it to four speakers. I tried drivers from acer support, dolby digital but still there are only two speakers. Is is possible, that it is only my wrong feeling, that the sound was better and those four speakers are normaly shown as only two?

    simiae,

Remove the RealTek audio drivers and install them again, that seems to solve it most of the time.

I have the same laptop. (windows 8.1)

I remember the sound to be really loud. Had to reinstall windows (win 8.1), downloaded all drivers I could find (incluiding audio driver) and now I have this same problem. Only 2 speakers showing.

Sound  is loud and good quality but I still have the feeling it was louder before.

i removed the drivers, reinstalled those from acer support. this time there was no dolby installed and the sound was pretty quiet, no surround feeling at all. after that i have installed dolbydigitalplusAA manualy (hidden in one folder acers zip file). now its much louder with dolby ON, but I still have the feeling, that it was much better with win8.1, and the surround sound was like a real one (I remember that I was very surprised with the sound coming from the laptop). now its just usual notebook sound.

You should be able to turn Dolby on and off from it's pop up Blue menu.  If the sound changes dramatically from on/off then it's working.  Open up the settings for the dolby and turn on some of the additional features like the following.  This is how mine looks.Untitled.jpg
