First, I have 1TB on my Aspire laptop.  Why this message?  Second, I have been trying to download Win 10, but the only thing that happens is Download - in progress.  This has been going on for five days.  How long should it take?  Everyone I have talked to says it only took them a couple of hours.

Are you upgrading to Windows 10 via Windows Update or downloading the ISO file ?

The official download is  at https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

The download is around 3.7Gb and depending on your internet connection it may take some time.

The problem I found is that due to bandwidth problems upgrading to Windows 10, the update program downloads some files onto the hard disk and then fails, then it downloads it again and again sometimes creating many partial downloads which sits on the hard disk clogging it up!

Check your C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download for files.  If you downloading the ISO file, you can delete everything here.
