acer aspire es1-511-c665 windows 8.1.

got a big problem my computer will not see my 3.0 usb scan disk flash drive 32 gb speed up to 100 mb/s.

1st thing I done I restored my computer back to factory settings (out of the box state) make sure everything was back to normal before I made my default factory restore usb device.
I wanted to test my usb recovery flash drive make sure it works for windows 8.1

it does not recognize my recovery factory default back up on my 32 gb usb scandisk flash drive its a new usb device and I went into computer management it said it was healthy and it shows the usb as drive D recovery.
I disabled all my power management options and even put them back to normal either way it did not matter when I made a default factory back up in the acer recovery management program.
Everything transfered over fine got no error code's and It did not hang and I even saved my acer recovery partition in the computer.
I tried going into the bios selected the boot order for it to see the usb hdd scandisk selected as the 1st one to boot up into.
I can select english as my key board, but in the recovery section when it looks for the usb drive it will not show it and it will not allow me to change the path because it is greyed out when I go into recover from a back up media like cd or usb.
I even tried changing the bios to boot into the Legacy BIOS option and it still will not see the usb device. I even selected set the bios back to all defaults as back to normal.

I have tried every opion I can think off here is the screen shots so you can see what options I had tried and what it keeps doing to me.

are you sure you created an USB recovery media (acer recovery) and not only a recovery USB drive?

    the main difference is:

Acer erecovery can restore your OS back to factory even with a new HDD

Recovery USB drive will let you only boot a minimal UI that can help you solve some startup issue and load a system image rstore point.

I press the windows icon + Q key, typed recovery, clicked acer recovery management, clicked create factory default backup, copy content from recovery partition to the usb drive, it formatted it, copied over. when it was done coping everything over at the end of it had asked do I want to delete the recovery file that was in the computer I selected to keep the recovery file in the computer just where it is.

went to test it I powered off the computer, connected the usb drive to the 3.0 usb port, powered back on the computer at the logo screen pressed F2 to enter the bios, went to boot menu, changed the 1st devise to usb hdd- scandisk, saved changes to exit.

came up into the blue screen selected usa key board, trouble shoot, reset pc, selected win 8, then after that it searched for the usb drive it couldn't find it.

I even tried going into the advance option screen, and tried the reset option. no luck still of it finding it.

and yes I also tried doing it the acer way of doing it and the microst way by typeing in search recovery and followed those steps to create it.

here a screen shot of the drive d files.d drive.jpg

maybe I can try putting the usb drive in one of the 2.0 usb ports ?

upgraded to win 10 from win 8.1 with uefi bios on acer aspire e 15. with just windows defender for my virus program. It worked good for a short while then the internet explorer & the IE program thats in windows 10 starting getting page not displayed errors. ran the internet fix tool with in windows it couldn't find anything wrong with it. went into settings selected to restore computer back from a earlier time selected a earlier date with the windows 10 on it. after it was done, rebooted machine the desktop was blank no icons, no task bar it was blank. rebooted machine into bios the only option it gave me no matter what I picked in there it only showed windows 10. tried repair it in there with win 10, tried recover option with win 10. gave me error messages told me it couldn't be repaired or recovered. tried setting the bios back to default thought maybe I can trick it. turned off computer for 5 mins then rebooted my icons where back, but both web browsers wouldn't work. I tried going to settings selected revert back to win 8.1 it told me I can't because the file was missing, but the hidden factory file was still in there I checked in disk management. went back into the bios again selected the admin command window ran a few basic commands to see what it finds. so I pluged in my usb recovery disk of win 8.1 and went back to bios uefi blue screen selected to change the boot order to see usb hdd as 1st one on the list and restored my computer back to windows 8.1. Even when I tried to format my usb drive to ntf and tried to make a back up image of windows 10 it would tell me that its not supported ntf file format even after format it with ntf option.. lucky I had my windows 8.1 saved on usb stick. For some reason windows 10 wants to dominate everything and it will not let you do a easy repair from control panel options and going through settings option or from within the bios program. And I'm sticking with win 8.1.. 20150823_203651_resized.jpg20150823_resized.jpgdsk manmt.jpg

ps> before all this mess started when win 10 was working good I found the possible fix to get my bios to see my win 8.1 recovery usb stick I copied the back up files from the usb stick to a folder on my desktop and then put them back in the usb stick and was abe to still use my 3.0 usb port. when I had to re-install my win 8.1 the bios program was able to see it this time thank god.

Yes, windows 10 uses its own recovery and can be a problem to revert to previous windows version if windows 10 wan't boot.
