RAM Upgrade Help for Acer Aspire V5-551-8401

I only see 1 RAM slot for my Acer Aspire V5-551-8401 and it has the factor 2GB RAM card loaded into it, yet my computer shows 4GB of total RAM, In not sure how. I'm running the factory installed Windows 8.

Can I load a 4GB RAM into that slot instead? Am I just not seeing the 2nd slot? There appears to be soom copper thing screwed into the location where I would have expected to se a second RAM slot, and the copper continues up to the cooling fan.

I wanted to increase the RAM to 8GB to see if it helps with performance (which is slow) but now became confused when I saw what I described above. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

Thanks for your help, I upgraded with a 4GB RAM and it seems to help the performance a bit.

From what I found out with my V5 is that the original 4GB of ram is soldered onto the mother board and the connections crack which render 4gb unreadable by the computer. So, you have to replace the 2gb card with an upgrade.
