I have an ongoing problem with the mic , it keeps vanishing,  and I gave up, but now Im very keen to get it working properly!  but Acer help have been less than useful  with their Asion helpers!!  it is now out of warrantee.  I have uninstalled the drivers  and re installed,  the same thing has happened in W8/W8.1 and now W10!  any help would be great..

    fuzzflyer,

Could you provide a specific model you are referring to, it sounds like the Z3-600 butI want to make sure. If it is the Z3-600, I do not see a specific microphone driver posted on our support, only audio drivers.

Are you referring to the built in microphone or a microphone that you are connecting to your system?

It is a z3 600 and supposedly has a built in Mike. But I have tried uninstalling the audio drivers and re installing. But always failed

    fuzzflyer,

Honestly, I would think about reloading it to factory defaults and starting from scratch and see if the microphone works then. Perform updates and continue to check the microphone as you go, to make sure it keeps working. Upgrade to Windows 8.1, continue performing updates and checking your microphone. Upgrade to Windows 10 and check it again. It is not a great process, but this will help understand if it was a program or app that was installed that did not ship with the system.

    fuzzflyer,

If the media was failing did you try the ALT-F10 method instead to see if it failed as well?

    fuzzflyer,

Well, since you can get into Windows you can try to start the recovery process from there and see if you can get it working right.

Have tried that a few times. With a restore disc and get the message " files are missing". It really is a poor computer

    fuzzflyer,

Did you try it using the built in recovery feature and not with the discs?

Yes  I believe so,  the computer will not open in safe mode?  Do you have any advice?

    fuzzflyer,

Well, Windows 10 does have the go back feature you can try, as a last resort, that will take you back to Windows 8.
