Bought my Aspire S7-391 in December 2013 - worked exceptionally well for 18 months. About two months ago (June 2015) noticed occassional slower "wake-ups" from sleep mode (instead of instant). They were sometimes 1-2 minutes long and sometimes 5 minutes long. Dismissed it since it seemed to be related to occassions when the laptop entered sleep mode while holding a large amont of data in memory (such as a streaming movie etc). I assumed it simply took longer to "refresh" and wake-up.
However, 2 weeks ago, the laptop started taking much longer to wake-up - up to several hours. Then 1 week ago, the laptop had to be on for over 12 hours to "wake-up". After checking some online discussions, I decided to delete the installed ACER-moidifed video drivers and install generic Intel drivers. After install, reboot still took a long-time (several hours). I then installed a bunch of Windows "recommeneded" upgrades. Laptop has not rebooted since - even though being "on" for more than 24-hours.
Basically, both LED's are on (SSD AND battery charging). If I disconnect the power cable, the battery LED will turn-off and the laptop will sound a beep (and vice-versa).
I have tried EVERY type of trick listed in all the online forums (including reflashing the BIOS). No combination of power-on/off, FN-ESC, F-whatever keys will work. The battery reset hole key has been used, I tightened the middle back screw etc....
I have yet to disassemble the laptop itself.
Any thoughts?
