Wireless speed on new Aspire V3-572p is awful

I just received the new laptop. I'm getting wireless speeds of 2mpbs to 20mpbs, not the 103 mbps I'm getting on my other devices. I have set the Intel modem to its proper values. (Intel dual-band wireless ac 7260). Nothing seems to work.

Is this a known issue? Or should I send this thing back?

Yup, it was the router. I just clocked 108Mbps.

    burningbird,

It doesn't sound like it is connecting at the 5.0 GHz speeds.

Have you tried turning the Bluetooth off to see if that increases performance?

Yes, the Bluetooth is off. And it is connected to the 5.0GHz.

The router is an older n-band model, I just bought a new AC. I'm going to see if that helps. If it does, I'll update this thread.

I can get 25-35 Mbsp speeds, but not the full 100, which I can get on other devices/computers. It's OK, but I really like to get the best performance on all my machines.

I think the reason is was really slow for a time (2Mbps) was there was a lot of stuff going on in the background. I've killed several processes, uninstalled several apps. That helped.
