How To Ctrl+Alt+Del In Iconia W510?

Hi guys, i have bought my iconia W510 since about a month ago and generally i love the tablet. However i wonder how do I bring up the control alt del menu screen to my tablet? There was moment where i had some freeze caused by desktop apps and i couldnt do anything about it but wait until my tablet closed and refreshed the desktop itself then everything went smooth again. I hate the fact that anything that runs in desktop mode also affect the whole tablet (i cant even do anything in start screen). That's why i want to know how do I bring control alt del menu with just physical buttons? I have read all over the net and they say press windows button along with the turn off button but nothing happen when I do that with my Iconia W510 tablet. Any thought?

right-click (press and hold) the task bar and select task manager ; i doubt there is any shortcut to the ctrl alt del menu, the one with lock, switch user etc options

CTRL+ALT+DEL could be replaced by pressing the Windows key and Power buttons simultaneously.

hello MayWu, i have done exactly that as i wrote in my first post but it only turned off my tablet display just like if i only press the power button. I still couldnt get it to work.

@cr3v3tt3: sir, when my app was freezing, practically i wasnt able to do much even when i wasnt on desktop. Things like pressing anything on the screen wasnt working until several minutes later the desktop forced closed itself and refreshed. That's why im asking how to ctrl alt del so i can just force close "not responding" apps manually. Well now i realize i shouldnt install heavy apps that practically slow down my desktop such as 3rd party AV (trend micro) and dropbox win7 version and i have uninstalled those 2 apps. Still though, I want to know if i ever need to ctrl alt del because it'd come in handy

btw, is there any menu where can we automatically force close something if the app has been not responding for x minute? (and we can change the minute settings)

just pin task manger to task bar lol click on it and close out frozen browser or app

actually if you read my posts clearly you wouldnt call me a rookie. I said it clearly that some of those frozen apps make my desktop (and the whole tablet) unable to respond to my fingers at all. Which mean no matter where you press, it just freeze. The whole tablet. I had to force restart it with the power button OR wait for few minutes until the desktop refreshed itself. So again, if you can't press anything, why on earth you think i have the ability to go back to desktop and press the task manager in the taskbar? That's nonsense.

This is a very common Windows problem btw (a crashing app makes the whole desktop not responsive), why it seems that you dont understand? I have been using Windows 7 for years and I know the same problem occurs sometimes in my PC, although rarely. Programs like 3rd party AV and those programs that run at startup can cause the same problem, can make your whole desktop unresponsive and you see the usual blue circle all the way until you force close that specific app (something like beach ball of death in mac). and i wasnt surprised similar thing happened to my tablet because Windows 8 practically the same thing with Windows 7 just with start screen and metro apps. Yes now i have uninstalled all those apps on my tablet and apparently things like that would never happen again but nobody knows what will happen in the future right?

Basically the problem is, i had 2 situations in my iconia W510 where the not responding program made the WHOLE tablet freeze. By saying freeze, it means i cant do a thing at all in the tablet. No matter where i press it, it just freeze. I can only press the windows button and bring me back to start but still i cant go anywhere from the start menu.

so it's like [not responding program in desktop] -> [whole tablet freeze] -> [unable to touch anything on the tablet, total freeze]

Now if you tell me that situation wasnt because of the not responding apps back in desktop, that would mean the tablet itself just sucks?

and before you bash me some more, i know it comes with low quality intel atom processor so i shouldnt install dropbox desktop program and Trend Micro in the first place and i have learned my lesson. But you should try to install those two and try to play with the tablet for let's say 7 days and you will see what I mean (installing some legacy apps that affect your startup would make you have some freeze issues and it sucks really knowing you cant do a thing about that when it happens)

Understand what you are saying but if the whole system is unresponsive there is not much you can do. To use TASKLIST and TASKKILL you need to be able to open a DOS box.

Have you tried connecting a USB keyboard ? From what you describe it sounds like the special driver for the touchscreen stops responding. Unfortunately I do not see a way to reconfigure the power button to open task manager.
