Turning Off Pinch Zoom

I have an Aspire E5-721 and I can't for the life of me figure out how to turn off pinch zooming, and it's driving me crazy. I've done some fairly extensive Googling, and everything tells me to either go to a tab in mouse settings that doesn't exist on my computer, or to go to Synaptics settings, which I also can't find anywhere. My touch pad is Synaptics, or at the very least I have Synaptics drivers installed. Is there any way to turn this awful feature off?

    Oshimos,

If you access the Control Panel and click on mouse, is there a tab that says Synaptics? If so, there should be an option on that tab that says settings, I believe, and you should be able to adjust the settings.

There is not. My mouse window only has four tabs: Buttons, Pointers, Pointer Options, and Hardware.

    Oshimos,

Under the hardware tab there isn't a properties option to click?

If not, it sounds like it may have a precision touchpad then. You can change the touchpad to work like a standard mouse if needed.

I checked and I do have a precision touchpad, but when I went to try and change it into basic in the BIOS, there was no tounchpad option in the list like there was in the link you provided me.

    Oshimos,

Acer phased in the precision touch pads to notebooks. Try updating the BIOS to version 1.07 (direct download link provided) if you aren't using it already and see if the option presents itself, that is the only thing I can think of why it would not be there (due to phasing).

If the option still does not present itself, you may want to think about using an external mouse and disabling the touch pad, the precision touch pad settings are very minimal.

Is Pinch to Zoom Supported on Acer CB3-431? There's no setting for this in settings-touchpad
