My K242HL monitor is often prone to flickering at a very specific spectrum of grey. This only happens when my laptop is charging. Although minor it can get a bit annoying. Please help.

    fabmaur,

These are some other troubleshooting steps I can think of before contacting Acer technical support in your area:

    • Try a different video cable to see if that resolves it.
    • Connect a different monitor to your notebook using the original cable and see if the same issue occurs.
      • If so, try the different video cable as well to see if it continues.

    fabmaur,

Does the monitor flicker when the charging adapter is not plugged in, I wonder if there is some sort of electrical current interfering with it.

Do you have the monitor plugged in to the wall directly, have you tried a surge protector?

It does not flicker when not charging. However I did try to stop the any electrical interferance by plugging the laptop charger into another socket. Hoever it still continues to flicker at charge and yes it is plugged in directly to the wall.

I will try to use the surge protector to see if it works.

I tried using a surge protector but the flickering continued which is annoying as it cost 14 pounds to get.

I tried swapping the VGA cable with another one as well as putting the charger in another plug and it worked a treat. Now it no longer flickers. Thanks
