Acer Aspire One D270-21375 Ram limitations

This netbook with its 1GB Ram and Windows 7 Starter is rather slow and will not load Google Earth, which worked perfectly on my ten year old desktop with its Windows XP, 512Mb Ram and 40 Gb hard drive.

Is this due to the limited RAM, or a failing of the Windows 7 Starter ?

Can this machine even run Windows 7 Home Premium? Would it pay me to add another 1Gb Ram ?

           Thanks for any help.

    Tommy,

            Thanks.

It sounds as though I should just stick with what I have and accept some limitations, but if you think I would gain enough from going to full Windows 7 and 2 GB RAM (which I would probably have to pay someone to install), please let me know.
