System restore failed. Can't boot Windows. Panicing!

Hi,

I installed Avast Grimefighter on my Acer Notebook today and after it re-booted (after I'd run it) it failed to start Windows.

After the windows logo appeared it just stayed black.After trying to repair the disc I got the blue screen of death error code stop: C000021a and I found a fix for this on yourtube but it didn't work. I tried using the auto repair twice and it didn't work.

I got desparateand started the computer by pressing alt F10 to run the Acer Recovery Management too to restore my system but with a back up option.

After 40 minutes or so (it backed up files said it was ding something to the system but I can't remember what I then got a message saying that The system restore process has failed. Then I got another message 'windows couldn't complete this installation. To install windws on this computer, restart the installation'.

I pressed OK and it says set up will continue after restarting your computer.

Then it reboots, I get the Windows logo..then it says Windows is starting services.

Then I get the 'System Restore Process has failed message'

And now it's just a loop of these same messages and I just want to cry.

Can anyone help me?

someone mentioned to check on BIOS about Boot device priority...

so try to enter BIOS pressing F2 and check if avast is mentioned as first bootable device; if so change it to windows boot manager or HDD, press F10 save and exit.
