how do I get an H203H monitor to go beyond 1280x800... the driver files I DL'd are of a strange type

I purchased an Acer H203H but upon replacing the old Dell unit I was using as a secondary display off my laptop, I find that the only resolution this thing will produce is 1280x800, not anywhere near the 1400x900 or the max it's touted as having.

I downloaded driver files but they arent of any useful nature.

Did I just get rid of my Dell monitor for a boat anchor if it's 20" and cant produce beyond 1280x800? Or am I just missing something that's so horribly obvious it's eluding me?

PS: I tried the acer chat...USELESS! After waiting forever a guy came on asked if he could help...after waiting forever again, he never responded to my question.....it was useless and I wasted like an hour waiting for nothing. Apprently he had to milk a chicken or something because he certainly didn't offer me any help!

    Pretty weak support community.

I have asked question in automotive, audio systems, motorcycles, firearms and etc communities and normally within 24 hours there are multiple people jumping all over solutions left and right.

Here I sit some 48 hours in with a new monitor that can't display anywhere near it's capabilities, even after installing the driver I downloaded and nobody has any clue what to suggest, and when i contact Acer chat support they want to charge me to tell me how to resolve the issue?

Yeah, I think this is my last endeavor with an Acer product. Can't wait to unload this piece of ***** and get something that works.

Thanks for nothing Acer. Your products and service SUCK!
