Hey All!

With the help of these forums, I've tried holding down the power and vol down for over 60 seconds.

Reset the battery, still no luck.  I have an orange light when plugged in.  Never changes, even after staying plugged in for over 24 hours.

I've been using this sytem for about 3 months (groupon refurb) without issue and I'm out of the 90 day warranty and it just SHUT OFF.

Any other suggestions?  ANY IDEA WHAT AN ACER REPAIR WILL RUN?

It's going to be tough to tell at this point without more diagnostics. We need to figure out if your problem is a corrupted OS, a bad battery or charger, or some other issue.

If the problem is a corrupted OS then you should be able to verify by booting into recovery mode or to the BIOS itself then letting it run for a while to verify nothing is major broken. If it locks up and reboots without input from you when in recovery or BIOS mode then the problem is likely more of a hardware issue than software (though it could still be a corrupted BIOS or UEFI load). Hardware is more likely to be a bad battery or a bad charger than an issue in the charging circuit. Trying a different charger would be a good first step, swapping in a different battery is possible, but not as easy as the other tests.

IIRC Acer charges $100-120 for out of warranty repairs, but it's better to get a quote from them directly than relying on my imperfect memory...

    Thanks for the input.

Just to clarify:  The switch will not boot into anything. It does not power on, at all.  I can't get into the BIOS or see anything on screen.

Sure sounds dead to me. Smiley Sad

It's possible that something like a disconnected power cord internally is causing the problem, but I don't know the Switch 10 internals well enough to know if there's a separate board to take the power jack and connect it to the motherboard or if it's soldered directly on. I do know if the battery gets too low it will stop charging, but I'd still expect things to boot when AC is connected.
