Just updated my Iconia B1-720 Android OS to 4.4.2 and get the wifi drops and gray signal meter like everyone else.  Is there a way to update to 4.4.3?  Is there a solution that works?  Tried just about everything I could find on the internet.  Nothing seems to work.

    t92168,

From what I can tell the most current Android operating system we have pushed for the B1-720 is KitKat 4.4, did you get an update from Acer that gave you 4.4.2 or did you download it from somewhere?

I got it from Acer.  I haven't made any attempt to modify or root the tablet.

    t92168,

Could you send me a PM with your build version please, I'd like to do some research for you.

    t92168,

Thanks for the information in the PM. I've did some research with the information you provided and according to our documentation the B1-720 has KitKat 4.4 at least, matching the information you provided.

Did this issue start after the installation of an application? Try removing that application and see if the issue persists.

You can also perform a factory reset to see if that resolves the issue, perform updates and see if the issue continues after that.

The issue began immediately after I allowed the update to 4.4.2. It was working fine before that. I wanted some additional functionality out of Chromecast that would only work with 4.4 or higher.  As soon as I upgraded, I started dropping the wifi.  No additional apps were added or remove

I should say no apps were added immediately before the upgrade and none since.  Already did the factory reset.  Did not work.

    t92168,

Well, if you have already tried the factory restore I would think that we can check the system for you to see if the hardware is defective.

Try this for me first; remove all applications that you have manually went and installed, starting from the latest one to the first, restarting after every removal to see if the problem fixes itself. There could be an application installed that is messing with the wireless drivers.

I deleted all the apps that I added and did a factory reset as well.  It still drops the wifi signal after about 7-10 minutes.

    t92168,

I think the next step would be to set up a repair online, or you can chat online with a technician (available 24/7) and they can set one up for you.
